Can I wean these girls??

I have 2 alpine girls who are about 8 weeks old approx and was wondering if I could wean them. I bought them a week ago or so and have been feeding them milk from a bowl from my nanny that I milk. I was wondering as when one gets milk she seems to get the runs. I don't know if she gets too much or what but it's horrible! Like water. Her stools were starting to firm up as she wasn't drinking much milk but started wanting more and when she gets it she has the runs. What do you think? I don't wanna wean them early but they eat pellets and hay and have gained weight just in this week! Thanks all!
By the way I have wormed them w/ Ivomec last early this week.

Oh good. Yes they drink water well and eat feed and hay. I think that will really help her.

I do not wean kids until they are 3 months old as I feel that is best.

Have you given them Coccidiosis prevention meds?

No I don't think so. I did give her some pepto as that was recommended and it seemed to help some but it hadn't been THIS bad!

It is important to give them coccidiosis meds.

I would give a Sulfadimenthoxine either Albon or Di-Methox. I used to use the 12.5% solution or you can use the 40% injectable. All are given orally for a period of at least 5 days. I usually give my kids it at three weeks of age, twice daily 1/2 cc mixed with milk for one week (14 doses total) and 1/2 cc dose once a week until weaned.

The 12.5% solution is given Orally, straight, into the mouth using a syringe (remove the needle). Do not just add it to the kid's water because you will not know if he receives the correct dose.
Five day treatment- you must treat the full five days.
Day one: 1 ml per 5 pounds- given orally.
Days 2-5: 1 ml per 10 pounds- given orally

Have you taken her temperature?

What color are the scours? Are they really foul smelling?

Pepto Bismol- for scours
Dose-2cc every 4-6 hours for newborns

Make sure she stays hydrated!!!

If the case is she is getting too much milk at once. Try giving more frequent smaller feedings if possible.

Yep. I always wean early (even younger than yours) with no problems.
