Lightbulb Bottle Baby - ?Weight?

What would be a good weight for a Bottle Baby. He is an in-tact Buckling. 5 weeks old. 1/2 Boer (Daddy) and 1/2 Spanish (Momma).

If I recall correctly, take the birth weight and add ten pounds for every month old he is...so it would be around 12 pounds plus his birth weight for a good weight on him.

Please correct me if I'm wrong here, guys!

Sarah J, If that is right then he is REALLY growing. I got him at 6 days old. He weighed 7 lbs. the next day at 1 week old. He weighed 30 lbs. on the day of his 5 week B-Day. WOW. He is not fat either, he is getting so tall and filling out great.

I was worried that he might not be gaining weight fast enough, but if this is correct he is doing great.

Thanks for your reply
Tina

Meat breeds will grow faster....I think this birthwt plus 10lbs a month is for dairy breeds mostly. Crosses also grow faster...hybrid vigor
