I have a kid that is about four weeks old and it is losing hair on one of its ears and top of its head, any clues as to what the problem might be?

Have you checked it for Lice. I give my Bottle Baby Boer Buckling a bath in Puppy Flea Shampoo once a week for 2 weeks and this took care of the problem for me.

I don't know where you are located or the current climate or nutrient conditions there. Along with the other responses, it could also be a mineral deficiency and also mineral toxicity.
