Mother Clucker,

You will need Tincture of Iodine for disinfecting umbilical cords, and navel cord clamps for clamping them off. Also, surgical gloves(that come all the way up to your shoulder) are helpful to have in case you have to help momma.

Good luck with your kids!

Sterile scissors for cord cutting

Iodine for cord dipping

Oxytocin: for forced milk letdown, retained fragments or prolapsed uterus

Nubain: in case you have a breech and need to do a manual manipulation or need to pull a stuck kid.

Well I was going to say the only thing left is the goat kids :haha: . But yes breathing is very handy :haha: . I just hope I don't get all wigged out when she goes into labor...heck she is going to be more calm than me! This will be her second kidding. I plan on taping/taking pictures of the whole birth if possible. The funny thing is that on the day she is due I go in to get a hair cut .

goats

Our goats head back to the barn when they are ready to kid. They also make funny noises and usually kid on their due date. The older doe kids around 10 a.m. and her daughter at 1 p.m. Our first kidding we video taped the whole thing too. We were definitely more nervous than the doe.
