Corn and Goats

I have one odd question and it is pretty straight forward, I was wondering if goats can ear corn and have no problems with it. See my mom and i plant corn and would like them to be able to share some of the harvest. Have you had any problems with any other veggies thanks for the help.

ear corn

I would be careful feeding corn on the ear. They can choke on the cobs. Just make sure you chop it up in small bits so they don't choke on it. Sometimes they can get it lodged in their cheek too. Keep an eye out for abnormally bulging cheeks also. Of course not meaning when they're chewing their cud, just a large un-moving lump you may want to check out.

They really love to eat the stalks too and the fronds. I always feed my goats the corn fronds & stalks. I even have some folks bring some over for them.

I have two goats and a bunch of chickens.

When the corn is pretty much done, I cut up the green leaves and the
skinny stalks into 4-6" pieces and give them to the goats. They love it.

I cut up the brown stalks and the bigger stalks into 6-8" pieces along with
any ears that might be left to the chickens. They love eating the corn off
the cob and scratching around in the corn stalks/leaves. It's kind of like
"pre-processing" for the compost pile. Every few months I clean up the
chicken yard and put everything in the compost pile.
