Cydectin by Injection?

I was talking to a goat buddy who had a strongyles wormload and pale eyelids on a couple of his does. His vet was adamant about giving Cydectin Injectable 1% by shot only.
I always thought pretty much every wormer should be given orally.
Any feedback?

Dewormers generally are most effective when given orally. The reason why there are different routes is because of withdrawal times. All routes are effective at reducing worm load, so the route you choose will depend on many things. The injectable type is the same drug as those commonly given other routes, just in a different carrier/solution and sterile for injection.

The veterinary college textbook I have about goats (and sheep) says orally.

this is a little old, but I have moved to using it injectable after a very prominent Nigerian breeder suggested it and all I can say as I have never looked back and all my goats stay where they should on the famancha chart and I have not given copper bolus in 2 years.
if you have a problem with BPW I highly suggest it, Pyrentel works as well I typically give a combo of the two if we have had weather like we have.
My theory is orally it goes in and out so fast it cant work as well and via bloodstream it has a chance to work before its processed out. I dont know I just know it works.
