Baby goat constipated
I have a 2 week old boer girl she hasnt been pooping much. Last weekend she wouldnt take the bottle all day I was really worried and tried to find a vet that would see me on a sunday but I had no luck, next day when I went to feed her she took the bottle like everyother day. She has been taking her bottle like usual but today she wont take it again. I notice that she streaches alot. I tried a enema with warm water and she started taking a few oz of milk. Im giving her whole cow milk mixed with some goat milk. I asked a friend of mine that had goats and she said to add 1ml of cooking oil to her milk to make her go. My question is this, is that safe??? I dont want to do anything to harm my girl but I dont know what to do. Her mom doesnt clean her or feed her. She stays with her but its like she doesnt know how to be a mom. I got her last year from a couple that bred goats. I think she was only milked and not allowed to raise her babies so she doesnt know what to do. I cant tell when my little gal poops because most of the time after she goes I noticed that the mom eats it off the ground! Since she was born the mom will not clean her. I know that baby goats need the mom to stimulate them so they can poop, but she wont. Please help!
