Goats are brats
This is just a story but I thought I'd share my experience.
I gave our two Nubian does their annual CD&T booster (sub q, behind where the front leg meets the body, massaged in etc.)
Goat 1 - Eleanor is our drama queen - takes the shot, paws once with that leg on the milk stand, stands down and resumes eating alfalfa. Cool, I think. Goat 2 - our calm and placid Katherine - takes the shot, squeals, paws the ground, jumps off the milk stand and dances around. OMG, I've hurt her. I'm trying to get her, to massage the meds in and make sure she's ok. Get her calmed down.
3 hours later, come out to find Eleanor sun bathing and Katherine laying down out in the pasture (not normal). I call her, she just looks at me and bleats - uh oh. dash out to her, nope, not getting up. Try to lift her to her feet, nope, not happening. I'm really worried now, better get DH. I run up the pasture, into the barn to ring the emergency bell (brass bell with a rope and knocker). This means - wherever you are, if you hear this, you better come running to the barn. Reach up to yank the rope, look behind me - Katherine is standing there with her head to one side, grinning - I swear, she was laughing at me. She had to have jumped up and run up the pasture behind me to be there that quick.
Goats are brats.
