treatment for trichuris worm?

Just wondering what you are using/doing for whipworm or trichuris? Is there something different?

Panacur is the only wormer to kill whip worms.Is this in your dog?Goats dont get whipworms.

Hi, thanks for your reply. hmmmm
We had to put a goat down last week and had an autopsy done with the Ministry of Agriculture. The goat had a genetic heart defect but also had a number of worms. The one that the report mentioned is TRICHURIS, which requires a whip worm deworming agent (this is what the guy said). I assumed, without knowing much about worms, that trichuris and whip worm were one and the same.... perhaps, then, the trichuris requires a whip worm deworming agent???? Does this make sense?

My next question, then, would be...... we only have one remaining goat now. Should we treat her with Panacur, like with tapeworms, at 4x horse dose for 3 days in a row???
Is this all we should treat her with at this time - or do we do Panacur in combination with another dewormer?

I almost lost my LGD from whip worms this spring and I took her to the vet and the vet said that goats dont get whip worms.I asked and the dogs worms are different from the goats.Panacur for dogs is alot stronger dose than horse Panacur.the horse Panacur (Benzimidazole) is what your looking for and it comes in a paste that is what you dose 3x to a goat.NOT the dog Panacur.
