RIP Sox

Friday afternoon DW noticed Sox in distress. She was due to kid in about 3 weeks. Vet was called, he said bring her in, and I met her at vet in time for a diagnosis of pregnancy toxemia. He gave her Penicillin and B12 shots, gave us more to cover the weekend. Temp was over 103F. We gave her CMPK drench also yesterday, and Probios. By last night Sox had no appetite at all. We started giving her molasses/corn syrup this morning, but she passed around 3:00 this afternoon.
Poor Sox was so friendly and affectionate. We'll miss her.

I am so sorry for your loss. Good tips here in the Sticky's & on line about toxemia/ketosis. Hopefully you'll never have to deal with it again.

Sorry for your loss. Never easy losing a livestock friend. I know I always hate it when one of mine passes unexpectedly.
