Kid care

So when do you do it? First CD&T vaccine, start cocci treatment, and disbudding?
Anyone start at 2 weeks of age for all 3?

Sorry dont know how to delete post, found another post with the answers...

It's okay, you don't have to delete, I think this is good topic to bring to the top, and there may be different opinions than the old ones had.

Disbudding, I try to do the bucks very early, less than a week of age (but I have alpines and Nigerians, heard that Nubians are slower to develop). On does, I can usually wait up to 2 weeks and still be fine.

CDT I give to the does a month pre-kidding, so the kids are covered through colostrum. Then I give the kids their shots at 6, 9, 12, and 15 weeks. May not be exact on those. I also use Pasteurella at 12 and 15 weeks, unless the kids are going to a show, and I will start that vaccine earlier.

Coccidiosis prevention I normally give my kids that in their bottles daily with Deccox-M, starting around a week. But this year I am dam-raising some, and using Corid (because that's what I had on the shelf ) starting at 3 weeks and going every 3.

Thanks
I gave the 3 outside kids a dose of Toltrazuril thinking they were 3 weeks then I looked at the calendar (sometimes my days run together) they are only 2 weeks old
But since I stressed them out with disbudding they should be good, right now it is a small dose anyways.
I always worry if I got em right with disbudding the boys took it harder then the little girl.
CDT is what I didn't do prior - so everyone got their winter dose today. Swear if Feline wasn't such a good milker...here I am walking around the Does with a handful of syringes, pop lid off, pinch skin, inject. No problem until Faline took off running with the syringe still attached (stupid goat) had to chase her down to finish.

It won't hurt em any to get the dose early.

I didn't do the babies, I will go ahead and wait. I milk Nibbler for the colostrum and then bottle feed it to her babies. I would be bottle feeding them all but my mom is going through chemo again, she is getting a kick out of helping with the 2 little ones while I am at work but bottle feeding them all would be to much for her.
So debating with myself...is it 3 weeks old when I can put the babies up for the night so I can milk in the morning? Sorry my brain just seems fried lately...
