Cystorelin andbortion

The question arose in another thread, "Would Cystorelin (Fertagyl) cause an abortion if administered to a pregnant doe?" I asked this question of my vet and he said it would not/should not cause an abortion. All it does is cause ovulation, if there is an egg to be released. Lutalyse, on the other hand, WILL cause abortion. (In humans as well.)

I hope this clears up any questions on this subject.

I wonder if Loretta and Emily are talking about the same vet...

Emily's vet is Sally Bird. Mine are Steven Root & Brian Buttress.

I like to use Sally Byrd, but she's a bit of a drive for me. Still, she's good and darned reasonably priced. I don't know what we'll do when she retires.

Steve & Brian are at the Tx County Vet Clinic in Houston. Comparatively young, knowledgeable & caring!
