Goat Care Classes

I am in the process of planning a class on goat care. The different areas I will be demonstrating on and giving hands on experience with are: hoof trimming, doing your own fecals and drawing blood to send off for testing.
I would like to know if their is anyone out there who would be interested in participating in the upcoming class.
I also welcome any other areas of interest that you may have that you feel would be helpful to have a class on.
Once I hear back to see how many are interested in learning these skills, I will then arrange the time, date and place where this will take place. So far I have had requests of those interested in these classes as far away as an 8 hour drive. Please contact me by email or message me if you would be interested or would like to see a class on another subject. Thank you all for you input.so far. I look forward to hearing from you.

Interesting. Please let us know your credentials/experience and farm name. I'm in Georgia, too far for practicality, but a number of newbies in your area visit HT regularly.

My farm name is Naures-Acres. www.natures-acres.com. I have owned goats since 2007. I have owned Nigerians since 2009. Currently that is the only breed of goats I raise. I do not have credentials. I am just a goat goat owner who has had to learn goat care and husbandry on my own. I did not have a goat mentor to teach me, so I know how difficult it is to learn everything on your own. I love helping others and believe in sharing what I have been so richly blessed with. Goat health and care is very extremely important to me. I am in no way and expert and do not have all the answers but what I do know I will gladly share. I am from Fort Madison, Iowa.

Is there a 4H goat project in your area? That would help a lot of kids.

Please try to get someone to teach disbudding. I see so many posts here where it is totally botched. A veterinarian friend of mine taught me 25 years ago and I am so glad. Still the most necessary evil of goat raising in my opinion.

Something on feeding/feeds would probably be good. You may want to talk to some meat goat raisers too, and then you can cover feeding for different types of goats, unless it is just a dairy goat care class.
