We are blessed with lots of short leaf pine, some white pine and a smattering of other "needle" stuff that I am uncertain as to its name?? Anyway, they all LOVE to eat the evergreen needles...strip the branches bear. They are less interested in what we call Red Cedar (juniper), but they will eat it...we have lots of that, too. They eat it when pregnant and we have never had a problem. I would think that a fir would be OK based on this experience, but we do NOT have them...I would be VERY certain that the trees were untreated before I fed them to my goats, however. Lots of people really believe that goats can and will eat ANYTHING...that they are indestructible...we all KNOW that is wrong!
