What a way to start the year!!!!

We were certainly blessed today. Had two coming at once but I pushed one back and pulled the other breach. Wildly spotted tricolor girl. Big belted light roan boy and wildly spotted almost silver(heavy roan) boy.

Yep. My thoughts too. The big buckling took the little girls size. She is the strongest one now though.

Monster was just born. I found him with just his head hanging out. It had been out a while. Luckily he was still alive. I was able to squeeze past his head and find a leg. I couldn't get the other one. With a little persuasion he came out.

Is the "new" boy the one lying on the ground with a small, partial white belt, Doug? What did he weigh?? You've got some great genetics in those bucklings!!!

Not sure the weight. I tried to weigh on house scales. Surely he didn't weigh 12 lbs? Yep. That's him.

Nice babies there Doug.

We use one of those cloth bags that stores give out. Tuck the babies inside and use a digital fishing scale. Works great!

big boy.. we had a big single two years ago (the kids named him Olaf)... took 3 of us.. an hour to get him out.. and tons of lube.. on the digital scale he was 13lbs 14ounces.. (he was by far our biggest single ever)..we've had lots of 12lb boys.. funny thing.. they start out huge, but end up just avg. sized as adults..(Walker one of our sr. bucks was a wee single buckling out of a young ff).. he was barely 5 lbs.. he's HUGE now..we still have 2 full months of non-goat *vacation* time to enjoy before we start kidding on feb 28th.. so happy we waited and bred for march babies this year.. everyone is enjoying the down time.. spending it on other projects/crafts/hobbies..

keep the baby pictures coming..
congrats
susie
