Kid watch

DW mentioned this morning that Sally was gooey at her rear end. Tonight she looks as wide as she is long, tail is up, is bagged up, and I wouldn't be surprised to see kids in the morning.

Um, okay, but you are going to check on her thru the night make sure she's okay right? I don't know how cold it is where you are, but if I had a doe kid here and I wasn't there right now, the kids may die from the cold if I didn't help them get dry!

No kids yet. And wasn't nearly as cold last night as the past few.

She picked a better time to have them now. Last week it was so bitterly cold here in Oklahoma, if shes anything like mine she will wait for this heavy rain we are suppose to have. Good luck!!!

No kids yet. What DW described as goo probably was just fresh pee.
Goat is still broad...

Well, sometimes they lose their mucous plug. I have one that for the last 2 years has lost her plug a whole MONTH before kidding! I hope that's not the case for you.

She's the most ornery goat we have, so she's probably just messing with our heads.

At this point may we assume "doe code" is well and functioning beautifully at your place?

It's time! Heard Sally bawling as we were heading to town for bbq and ice for the deer DW got this afternoon. Looked in the pen and she's in labor! Watched the first squirt out easy, peasy.
