Stiff Rear Legs

Just drew blood to test my herd. The buck I bought earlier this year (comes from a negative herd) has stiff rear legs. Is there any reason other than CAE (will wait for the results) or selenium deficiency that causes stiffness? I'd like to do some pointed research. Thanks!

Could he be myotonic or part myotonic? That could do it.

No, he is purebred Kinder. Does anyone know if adult goats can have contracted tendons? I keep seeing information about kids having it, but not too much about adults.

it's probably a conformational trait known as posty legs, compounded by the fact that all bucks walk like they have a pinecone up their behind while in rut.

Is this a sudden event or something that has gotten worse with rut?

I have co-owned him since January and he's always been stiff. We gave him bose and it never went away. He lives at the other owner's house where he has more room and other bucks to live with. He seemed more stiff today than a few weeks ago when I went to see him, so maybe it is just the rut compounding a confirmation issue. Interesting! He comes from really nice lines, but that isn't always a guarantee on confirmation. He isn't in pain, so that's a plus!

Does he bend his back legs back sometimes? Toby did that and he had a back injury. Every so often his back legs would bend backward. Not sure what else it could be, but it doesn't sound like it fits the description.

the only other thing I could think of to suggest would be to check his feet. I've had animals do really funny things, that weren't "obviously" about their feet until I did some pretty in depth investigation. I hope you get it figured out

Does he browse the woods? Any other signs of things-not-right?
