Quick WWYD question

One of my 2 yr old does is not wanting to put weight on a hind foot. We have had some wet weather recently. And I recently had to treat a buck for a mild foot rot/interdigital dermatitis (actually just a bit stinky/sticky between his toes) and one shot of LA 200 and application of thrush remedy between his toes for a few days cleared him up. So that was my first concern.
Her foot has been sore for two days. I have applied thrush remedy to her foot. But it never was stinky or sticky or dirty or even over grown. It may not be foot rot to begin with.
Tomorrow when I am home in the daylight for a change I will get a good look at her. The real question I have is, if she has foot rot and I want to use LA 200 or Biomycin, should I use it? She was just bred a week ago.
If she wasn't just bred I wouldn't question at all. Any opinions?

I used it to treat a pregnant ewe with no ill effect to her or the lambs. I did get my Vets advice before using. Hope you figure out whats up with your goat.

I'd talk to a vet... tetracyclines can deposit in bones but I would bet you'd be safe this early because the fetus shouldn't have any bone development... it's just a ball of cells at this point. But, medication in early preg is questionable. I'd only use it if you can find something that clearly needs antibiotics in that hoof.

Thank you both. That's pretty much what I was thinking too, my goat. If I could clear up the problem without meds would be best. Last evening she was putting weight on that foot and looked pretty comfortable, maybe 95% right. So what ever it is it is improving. I suspect a minor foot rot starting. So no meds for this girl : ) When I get home from work this afternoon I will put her on the stand and get a good look. I have been told that I "look for things to be wrong". That I need to stop staring at my animals. But that's me : )

What about topical application of antibiotic. Clean up the pocket of rot then apply la200, which is certainly cheap enough. I doubt much would get into her system.

That's interesting WhereIwantto. As I remember we used to use the tubes of cow penicillin (for mastitis) to treat puncture wounds in the horses. About the same idea. But I had long forgotten.

Little girl seems to be 100% now. Runs, plays, is moving sound. I couldn't find anything in her foot or between her toes. No pockets of rot, no stinky slimy part, no foreign object or sign of a puncture. So I will just count my blessings and go on.
