Exclamation help ASAP

So, finally got some goats...One male born this year #35 (haven't had time to find out dates yet). He is sounded congested/coughing coming off the trailer. Was a five hour drive. I have some Pen-Aqueous. How much and where? Guessing it is begging of pneumonia from the stress??

Leave him go a day or two. Goats cough. They stress out easily. Feed them well and all should be fine.

Good to know..He came from a good farm. He seems skinny(though don't have a normal to go off of on this breed and age) and just want to stay ahead of any problems (hubby is freaking on me).

I just moved my does 300 miles and they were not happy. lot of crying and not eating. They lost weight and now they are doing fine. Goats are creatures of habit and don't like change. I spent a lot of time petting, brushing and coddling mine.

Take his temperature.

On Monday, get Cydectin and treat him for worms. The worms "bloom" when goats are stressed.

Did they travel gravel roads? That could do it too.

I will double check but I think he was already treated for worms. Yah, there was some travel on gravel roads but very little. DH said that this morning he seems to be doing worse. He struggling wheezing, bubbling gaging, coughing. Everyone still think I should wait on the antibiotics? Won't be able to get vit B4 till monday.

Bubbling gagging? Is it for sure respiratory and not from throat?

"Drooling, foaming at the mouth or saliva draining from the mouth may be
caused by several things. The worst of them would be a neurological disease,
such as rabies, so the producer needs to protect herself accordingly. It may
also indicate listeriosis, goat polio, or an injury to the head or mouth. Such
symptoms may also indicate that the goat has eaten a toxic substance. "

If it is from the nose, is the discharge clear? At this point I think I would give the Pen. If it isn't already pneumonia it could turn that way pretty quickly. Have you taken a temp?

Well, milked everyone...

Checked him out. DH made it sound worse...He is coughing, gurgling but only everyone in awhile(not sure if from lungs or not) Temp 101.2 No drainage,no foaming. Did find out he was weaned only four days ago. Still waiting to hear about worming. If I get around to it tonight I will do a fecal float on him. Around eye... pink and fine.
