I too like that color combo.. I hadn't planned on keeping a buckling from this spring. but once I saw this guy hit the ground.. I knew he was staying here.. (not only was he interesting to look at ...but he combines a lot of the bloodlines I love to work with.. even if he was our 3rd ever OOPS baby.. I didn't get his sire out of the doeling pen quite soon enough.. so we had a teenage mom.. who pushed this big ol' boy out with no problem at all.. then went on the milk like a pro at 11 months!).. granted those moonspotted kids don't start out overly flashy.. this is Ages Ago Acres Dusk Till Dawn.. 5months & on the day he was born...
susie, mo ozarks

Had to share a picture of our newest buck Yarrow. Looks like our 2 could almost be brothers.
Your boy is much prettier though, color & pattern more defined on your guy too.
Our new guy is a real sweetie though & hoping for some pretty babies in the spring.

Those are gorgeous bucks! I think the one on cl has two different colored ears. If I can sell one or two of the kids I have left, I'd be tempted at least to go see him.

I was looking at that guy too, it's my local craigslist. I don't have Nubians and don't plan on expanding in that direction but he's pretty tempting anyway with that cool coloring.

Wonder if the buck is in rut, or just a bit puny? He looks a bit on the slim side to me.

The ad says he weighs 175 lbs+. I would think you could get at least $150 at the salebarn for him if he really is. So not sure how that is more than slaughter price.

For this area $150 dollars for that size buck is a good deal. I've talked to the owner and she said that she will take him to the sale on the 27th if he doesn't sell. Honestly, I think she will get more for him at the sale because of his coloring. I know several people who go there to pick up goats for their herd or to resell. I might go to the sale just to see what happens. She has tried to straighten out the registration problem, but it seems that she got him from someone who bought him from the orig. breeder. The last owner never tried to transfer the paperwork and now it is missing a signature from the breeder. And the breeder is being uncooperative. At least I think that is what is going on. There may be more that I didn't get or understand.
I have several colorful Nubian crosses that I would like to breed him to, so I don't care about the papers. But, I need another buck like I need a hole in my head. Also, when people are trying to sell something they generally want cash, which I don't have right now. The ad is still up, so I guess she hasn't sold him. The goat market seems really slow around here. There are a lot of ads in CL that have been in there for a while.

I'd buy him before the sale if you're considering it. A sale barn is a great place for a healthy animal to pick up illnesses... I always reccomend isolation periods and disease testing before/after purchase no matter where you get them from, though.

Meh, I'm a dork and my head wasn't thinking straight. Too many numbers swirling in there the past couple of days.
Please ignore my posts. Except the ones on meningeal.
