MDGA question

I'm a little confused as to what constitutes an American and an Experimental.

I don't have any kids to register right now, but I'm gearing up for breeding season and laying some plans.

Rudy and Almond Joy are both 2nd generation mini Nubians registered as experimental. Rudy has pendulous ears, Almond Joy's are airplane. Don't know if that matters. So will all their kids be F3 Experimental? Or could pendulous eared kids be American?

Is there a way to register kids from a registered buck and non-registered doe that meets the breed standard?

1st and 2nd generation kids are always experimental. 3rd generation-5th CAN be American if they meet breed standard (or they would be whatever generation experimental). To move to purebred, the have to be 6th gen or higher with 3 gens meeting breed standard behind them and them also meeting it.

MDGA has a recorded grade program now. Last I checked, it is described on their website.

Thanks. Looks like they're updating their website. Most of the links I click on give me an error and say under construction.

I have another question. If I were to breed Rudy to a Full size Nubian or Nigerian (his parents were as small as one so I'm not to concerned breeding him to a ND with a few births behind her) the kids would be registrable as F1, correct?

TMGR also has a NOA (experimental) program for non-registered does (nd bucks must be registered). You must submit multiple photos to show the offspring meets standards. It will be registered F0 and will remain F0 until it is bred to a registered F1 (registered nd buck and registered standard).

Photos are submitted with every registration and animals only advance to american or purebred as they meet standards.

Whoa...what?!

Reading through the Grade rules it looks like I could also register Cookie's (most likely mini-alpine) kids by Rudy as Grade Mini Nubians too...since she is "a doe of unknown ancestry"
