oh the look on that goats face is priceless, she seems rather proud of her wings and tutu.
first thought in my head when I saw the little boy sleeping "cool a life vest multitasking as a pillow" and "awwwww"

Ooooh! Here are some of my mutt babies as well . Triplet brothers from a Nubian/LaMancha dam and a Nigerian Dwarf sire .

Thank you . These photos are a few years old....I think the boys where born 3 years ago? It was actually a very surprising birth. I had thought Rhapsody (their mom) was bred standard and she even bagged up and lost her ligs when everyone else was due and then going into labor. But she never kidded out, her bag started going down and after almost 2 months of no action I figured she hadn't been bred after all. I had a Nigerian Dwarf running in the herd with everyone but he was SO short and she was SO tall I figured he just couldn't have reached her on his own.

Low and behold all the sudden Rhapsody's belly started moving and I felt BABIES! Did I mention she never looked pregnant and I guessed she had maybe one in there? That all happened a week before she kidded out. She had me completely stumped for a few months if she was truly bred or not. I think all the hormones in the other does caused her to bag up 2 months early. When I milked her out after she kidded with her triplets the first part of her colostrum was like thickened, golden glue. It came out in thick strings from her udder and thankfully I had frozen colostrum otherwise the boys wouldn't have had any.

So that is my story of how those boys came to be!

It's so cute/cool that one of the boys carried the LaMancha ear genes! Is it the camera or did he also get the ND blue eyes? Either way, mutt or not, those are some gorgeous lads.

The first two boys had blue eyes from their sire and the third had brown eyes. Their dam had elf ears and the genetics lined up that one boy got elf ears . It just shows how funny genetics can be . I have seen 88% Boers born with elf ears if they had LaMancha in their background. It is crazy .
