Adding new does & registration

My first question is about adding new does, well not new to me but new to the adult herd. I decided this year to breed all 5 yearlings (only 3 if for some reason the youngest 2 don't hit weight by the time I breed). I am going to be combining all 5 yearlings with my older 5 does and I am curious what the best time to do this is?

I plan on breeding all my adult does (2yr olds up to 10yr olds) in October and my yearlings in November/December. I don't know if I should combine both herds before the yearlings have been bred or wait for a month or two after the yearlings have been bred. I normally don't have to worry about pregnant yearlings but I am changing things up this year so I am asking y'all how YOU do it. Also the pen I am growing the yearlings out in is the pen for next years kids. So I was planning on adding the yearlings into the older does pen but maybe I should put the older does in with the yearlings for just a month. I don't know if that would help even the playing field considering it would be the yearling's turf.

And the 2nd question is for the Mini breeders on here . Can you register a kid with the MDGA if the dam is an American? I breed all yearlings to Nigerian Dwarf and I have a few American status in the mix. If people want to register their kids I want to have an answer for them on the kids out of American does. I don't work with the MDGA or register with the MDGA so I am unfamiliar with their registration policies with different breeds and statuses.

Thank you!

Justine

Yeas, you can. I have registered several F1s out of PB standards by Nigerian Dwarf. I hope that answered your question satisfactorily.
