Unhappy Lost DD's Nigerian dwarf tonight.

...but then I found her out in the tall grass eating with the Katahdin lambs. She sure is cute, but sometimes I think I need to put a homing device on her,

Ooh, the title made me afraid to read, but I'm glad I did. Good ending.

I really did think she was a goner. When I was milking, all were present and accounted for, except her. After chores, I went looking and found the lambs, but not her. I did get my fill of chiggers, though. DW went out later and found her mingling in the tall gamma grass with the lambs.

I miss our little guy he sure was wild and could fit through all sorts of openings and dig out, but he mostly stayed with his herd (the Oberhaslis)...
if you wanted him all you had to do was shake a bucket of grain and there he would appear.... it made our vet laugh to see him crawl out from under the gate and come running up the driveway to get that grain!

Good to hear you found your Nigie! Oh I forgot to say, ours had a little bell he wore that helped tons too!

Are you making fun here because if so that's a really mean thing to do. You don't have to like ND's but HOW RUDE to say something like that about any child's animal!!

I'm new around here but I'm not new to forums and trolling..and some of what Sensible says sounds a lot like just good ol' fashioned, "poking the bear" trolling.

But I digress.

The bell idea sounds adorable and great! And I'm sure your DD would love her goat to have a cute little bell.

I agree on both counts!

Our pasture grass is not being grazed and is waist high. Our Border Collies are porpoising in order to figure out where the house is. I'll be glad when our Amish neighbor shows up on Thursday to mow and bale it.

We really gotta get us some goats.

That sounds like one of those "good" problems! Ours is tall, but not thick. I do chores wearing shorts and those wussy rubber shoes made out of recycled milk jugs. I growl a bit when something gives me reason to trudge through the gamma grass.

@sensible, whatever you said, went right over my head. Which is too bad, because I appreciate a good, off-centered sense of humor. Or maybe it really was too mean, and because I truly am pretty gnarly, I thought, "dang right!", but forgot that it was my thread. Where did that 'like' button go, anyway?
