Newbie going shopping today for goaties

I'm headed to a feed store to stock up for my goaties that are coming home next Wednesday ! Getting three wethers ages 2 and 5 months.

I have a list of what I think I need based on research.....but need your ideas too.

What should I keep on hand for emergencies?
Shelter cleaning? I have a dirt floor.
Fly repellant?

I have minerals and wormer. I'm going to get buckets, some type of hay feeder, straw for bedding, DE, BOSS, and grain since they are young.

What are you planning to use DE for? It isn't effective against very much at all.

Go easy on the grain and they really don't need BOSS. Plenty of good hay and the minerals, very tiny amounts of grain for treats, not scoops in a pan, just a spoonful in your hand is all wethers need.

Don't get a string type hay feeder. A metal one that mounts on the wall that they cannot climb into is best, IMHO.

Get some activated charcoal powder, vitamin C powder or capsules, vet wrap, betadine, epsom salt, and hoof trimmers.

I do use a fly spray from TSC this time of year, works on mosquitos, flies, etc. it's called Ultra EX in the black bottle.

We use a dust pan, & small rakes for the little berry piles & wet area's or a big rake if cleaning the whole stall.

Some things you can get as needed but the hoof trimmers already mentioned are a must & CD & T vaccine if you decide to vaccinate if the breeder hasn't already.

Also C & D ANTITOXIN should be in every goat owners fridge! It's not the vaccine(CD & T Toxoid) it's Antitoxin.
