breeding season starting earlier this year?

I've noticed several of my does already flagging the bucks. Any body else having does come into season this early? I usually don't breed until late October.

I haven't seen any heats, nor are my bucks stinky (granted, one is only a march baby, but the other is a 3YO). I'm in MI

Not yet. Bucks have their "Cologne" on, but none of the does is interested. Soon, I hope!

My bucks are starting to get stinky as well. We've just finally had warm weather for a week or two. I usually don't have to deal with this til around August.

Wonder if it means anything about the winter. We've had a ton of sweet clover this year and the old timers say that when we have a sweet clover year like this the winter will bring snow as tall as the clover. You're talking anywhere from 3' to 5' tall. If I was the least bit organized, I'd keep a journal of sorts about stuff like that so I could look back and see if there's a pattern over the years of something like 'stinky bucks in June, early winter' or something.

I have a Boer/Saanen/Nubian cross doeling that has already cycled three times. No sign from the adult does. My bucks aren't stinky yet, but they're still young 9 months and 2 months.

I spent time with the boys today, no stinky. Though my big sweet buck is starting to not take crap from the March baby buck, lol. And he's starting to 'protect me' from the attentions of other bucks. :P At least hes not rude to me like my boer buck was.

I have MiniManchas and LaManchas. My MiniMancha boys are starting to get stinky. I have two LaMancha does who are in heat and a Heinz 57 (?)Nigerian Dwarf/pygmy/LaMancha who is as well.

I just put one buck in with two of the LaManchas.

I have 10 to breed this year and one who is due in August- the lute didn't work

My LaMancha does flag and do the bucky thing all yr. It isn't a true heat though. They normally won't settle till late in August at the earliest. Rudolf Valentina is ignoring the does. My wether, Flash Gordon was being a real pill, constantly harassing the does before I banded him. None of the does was interested in him, but continued flagging and acting silly with each other. I really think it can get to be a herd dominance issue, kind of like pecking order with chickens.

I haven't seen anything from alpines or mini's yet. The Nigerians are a toss up. Some of them cycle nearly year round. But they mostly won't cycle in the very hottest months, and right now it's around 100, so nobody is interested in being in heat right now. I hope my breeding season is earlier this year than last for the alpines. Last year, my alpines didn't have any cycles until mid-late October! One mini not even until November! And I had thought the year before was late with does only starting at the tail end of September.

Bucks stink and are covered with pee. 3 does bred so far. I think 3 more are coming in heat by the way they are acting.

5 bred naturally so far here. The CIDR's start going in on the 15th. Going to stagger them so I don't have 20 does kidding the same night. but I could get it over with all at once.
