Getting medicine on the inside of the goat

So I'm trying to give the baby cocci prevention like a good goatherd. But it's really hard to get it on the inside of her, as opposed to all over both of us (mostly me). Any tips? I could use them. I'm using Corvid because it's what my feed store had, if it makesany difference, and using a syringe to squirt it in her mouth (in theory).

Mix with snow cone syrup.

Or.

Switch to Toltrazuril.

so hard to try to explain how I do it and not have it sound weird and I am short so this works for me....if its about 3 months or younger I usually hold the body with my thigh or under my armpit with my left arm I bring their head back towards my body a little and kinda pinch the lower jaw to open (like some do to put a bit in a horses mouth) but you don't have to go WIDE, slip the syringe into the opening and squirt release the jaw but don't let go yet, it is my understanding that Corid tastes awful so they might start shaking their head to get it out of the mouth so once you release the jaw move your hand around to encompass the nose AND jaw closed for a few seconds to ensure they swallow.
I hope this helps not sure if I explained it well enough.

I don't use corid here and after some of the stories I have heard am kinda glad I don't. But I do use this method pretty much whenever I have to give oral meds

Most of the time I use Corid (other times dimethox) as prevention and never had problems. Those seem to occur when the goats are already going down or very extended use, longer than the 5-10 day most use. I use 6.25 cc per 25# for 5 days.

ETA: I had one that whatever I did she would spit it out, until I covered her nose and held her mouth shut. hehe THEN she swallowed.

That makes sense, actually. Tonight proved that half the problem is coordination issues on my part though. XD I will try mixing it with something sugary... the stuff smells terrible, I can imagine it tastes pretty bad too. I have some molasses... maybe if it didn't taste so bad she'd give me a better chance at getting it in...

I would give slight warning about mixing it with something they may not have had before because sometimes they wont want to try it. I swear they do that on purpose to keep us confused.
Case in point I was giving out the replamin plus tonight and had to chase Pawnee down and sit on her back, you would swear I was going to give her something bad, and she does this every time...but once I squirted it into her mouth she starts sucking on the end of the tube...go figure

Straddle them facing away and lift the jaw with the non syringe hand. Control body with your legs. Insert syringe and slowly drench them. I hate using stuff that requires a huge dose and tastes bad... they will spit it out. I always load up an extra ml or two.

I switched to toltrazuril so that I could give one big dose of something that doesn't taste bad.
