It's time to move the boys.

I've got a raging heat going on. I'm not ready to breed. I've moved the young guys to one pen and The girl is in the other field. I thought I had time to build that buck pen. Guess I need to do it pretty quick. I have all the stuff, just gotta do it.

Our bucks were out of rut about 2 months this winter and then it all started again! I hate this...they are head banging and snorting and too thin (no, really!) AND they are driving poor Beau (their LGD) totally crazy! He looks like a yellow/brown Pyr from all the "ATTENTION" he has been receiving. NUTS! Girls are not interested and barely give them a glance...that's good at least...

I can't believe how much earlier your heat cycle's start down in the warm south. I'd go crazy if they started that early here because we don't like to start breeding until november.

Even my boys are starting to smell and act like they are going into rut. They are 2 months early! I had a doe come into heat as well last week, again 2 months early. I blame it on our whacky weather we have been having.

Crazy times I tell ya!
