New goat not feeling well...

Got a few new goats Sunday, today the doe is off a bit, not eating, just generally seems to not be fresh well. Gave her probios earlier, her temp is normal...she has had a change in feed, a 5 hour road trip on Sunday and getting some browse that she isn't used to. Should I just keep an eye on her? She has free choice baking soda and I don't have any pepto...I can go get some though if I need to. Could she be depressed? Or most likely just the stress and diet change?

Oh, and for your viewing pleasure....New goat not feeling well...-imageuploadedbyhomesteading-today1401849188.131538.jpgNew goat not feeling well...-imageuploadedbyhomesteading-today1401849211.356282.jpgNew goat not feeling well...-imageuploadedbyhomesteading-today1401849227.970264.jpg

Pretty girl, congratulations. I would just keep an eye on her for a day or so. Probably just the stress from all the changes. Too bad the breeder didn't send you with some food she's used too.
I'd worm her just as a precautionary measure too because of the trip & stress.

Thank you! She is my first nubian and I must say, I REALLY like her. I am already quite attached and I certainly don't want anything to happen to her!

That's kind of where I was leaning too, just stress and lots of changes, but really wanted someone else to verify that as well! Thank you for replying!

Take her temperature.

Treat her for worms, which will flourish due to her stress hormones.

Sit with her and talk to her about the move and how glad you are to have her as part of your herd.

She was treated on Sunday with Cydectin. Should I worm her again? She was also copper bollused when I picked her up. I have been taking her temp. and my husband and I spent a lot of time sitting with her last night. This morning she seems to be more herself. I withheld grain and only gave her alfalfa pellets on the stand and she has access to grass hay and some browse for now.

I have only had NDG before and she is definitely more personable than any I have had before. My husband is ready to sell off all NDG and focus on Nubians! LOL
