Can bucklings have oats?

Our does get oats in the milk stand and the babies are wanting the oats too. I've been giving them to the doelings in small amts.
What about bucklings? I have heard to avoid the grain in boys for the UT. Does that apply to oats also?

I'm feeding oats in moderation(1/2 cup per goat) along with alfalfa pellets to my bucklings. The browse in the buck lot is poor. Having no problems.

Oats will not inherently hurt them, but it depends on the rest of your diet. Personally I like medicated sheep feeds for goat bucklings because it takes the guesswork out. It's balanced 2:1, is pretty high protein for good growth, and has ammonium chloride. Easy!

I would definitely mix with alfalfa pellets if feeding oats. The problem is, it's like mixing broccoli with candy and expecting them to choose to eat the healthy stuff - especially if they have otherwise good hay or browse, they'll just avoid the alfalfa. The only time I have success with them eating the alf. pellets is when the browse and hay is poor.

They have grass/baby trees, chaffhaye, medicated noble goat pellets as their normal diet. (baking soda available too)

Yes - I feed oats to everything - But I also feed alfalfa to everything - the protein in the alfalfa helps them break up the phosphorus in the grain so it doesn't cause problems.
