Oats will not inherently hurt them, but it depends on the rest of your diet. Personally I like medicated sheep feeds for goat bucklings because it takes the guesswork out. It's balanced 2:1, is pretty high protein for good growth, and has ammonium chloride. Easy!
I would definitely mix with alfalfa pellets if feeding oats. The problem is, it's like mixing broccoli with candy and expecting them to choose to eat the healthy stuff - especially if they have otherwise good hay or browse, they'll just avoid the alfalfa. The only time I have success with them eating the alf. pellets is when the browse and hay is poor.
