After 18 hrs of steady labor. I progressed to pushing. Ctrx slowed and spaced out during pushing so much my cervix almost slammed shut. Cassie went up under my ribs. Transferred to the hospital. My midwifes backup md was on an Amish deliver with a baby in trouble. They had to call in an md who was on vacation. I felt bad for her, but she was a great dr. Layed back open minded. They deal with a lot of Amish deliveries and home births at that hospital. I did have to sign a c section permission slip. Just incase an emergency arose with her or I. I thought for sure with being vbac and stalled labor I was no dout going to have a c section. I'm so happy I didn't have to. Everyone was on board of first seeing if I could get her out "normally".
I was so tired I just wanted the pain to stop. I got an epidural. Took the other dr two tries to get it. Scared the crap out of me as he hit something the first Time that felt like electric shocks and extreme pain then my feet and legs were instantly dead. I was a little scared. Got the epidural placed and boy did I feel better. They started pitocin. Took a few hrs to get labor going solid again as my body was tired after 18 hrs of contracting every 2-3 minutes. Cassie took it as play time and flip flopped in my belly. She got the nickname popcorn from the nurses and dr.s.
it took less then 3 hrs to re dilate and efface. Even though I couldn't feel my body I was able to push her out in just 3-4 pushed. Dh almost missed it. He took a pee break came out and she was 1/2 way out. We figured it would take a bit to get her out.
I was discharged 12 hrs after her birth. I guess they never had someone leave so soon after an epidural. My back hurts from the huge needles inserted into my back. That's the only thing that hurts.
I wasn't allowed out of my bed once we got to the hospital. But I was numb from my ribs down so not like I could have moved. That hospital was the most layed back of any hospital I have ever seen. More so with me being vbac and having so many pregnancies.
Midwife just left from our 24 hr home visit. We're both doing great.

Happy happy ending. Congratulations!!!!

I love babies (kids). So much so that at age 49, we(wife is 33) aren't using birth control. but don't repeat that. My dad (77) would think I'm crazy.
