Tetanus shot--I messed up

I was nervous about giving a CD &T shot to my 4 1/2 wk old doeling since I'm not used to giving shots. I tried to do it while my husband was bottle feeding her, but she started jumping around, so I squeezed the syringe trying to get it all over with quickly, but the syringe came out. There was some medicine still left in the syringe so I injected her under the skin on her other side in the loose skin behind her front leg near her ribs. The fur near the first injection site was wet where the needle had come out but I don't know how medicune much went in. I think she got about 1/3 of the dose in the second injection site, but I'm not sure how much, if any, went in the first side. My husband thought I should give her more, but I don't know how much to give and what if I gave her too much? What would you do? Should I wait 21 days and give her a booster, then give another booster in 21 more days? Her mother has not had any vaccinations. I used to work for a vet and knew how to give shots but that was over 40 yrs ago and I've forgotten everything!
Thanks,
Susan

Give her the booster in 21 days. It's ok.

I agree with Alice. Just give her the booster when it's time and she'll be good. I've found it's easiest to give shots to kids when someone is holding them in their arms. Barring that, hold the kid's head between your legs while you're facing their back end. Kids are going to jump when they feel the needle (they're big sissies), so just be prepared to let go of the syringe (just leave it hanging there) the second they move, and proceed when they hold still again.

Try to give all your CDT shots on the same side of your little goats in roughly the same place, too. If you get "bumps" and some of them REALLY get bumps...others, not so much...then you KNOW that was where the CDT was given. Some of those early injections leave permanent "bumps.!"

Yup-i've done that and I think that the re-doing in 21 days is a great idea. Just wait until you give one a shot and they start screaming as if they were dying. And for a couple of minutes. I did that one for the second time in my life this year. I'm thinking I just killed my goat- what do I do, what do I do...... luckily both seemed to have survived my mistake.

Did the syringe disconnect from the needle or did the syringe and needle just slide out?

IT stayed together. It must have slid out when she moved and I was trying to squeeze the syringe.

She has two hard lumps from where I did the first shot(s) so I must have gotten more in than I thought. One side has a pea sized lump and the other one is marble sized.

I gave the booster shot to her today. My husband held her tightly. She yelled but wasn't able to jump up. Thanks everyone.
