Vacuum = suction Why didn't we think of this?

I just unpacked my new Ultimate Udderly EZ milking machine. The vacuum pump is a Mada Medical Suction Unit.

The Mada Unit is CHEAPER than dairy vacuum pumps. I know this because I have THREE of the regular ones.

And quieter. OMG is it quieter.

Yes, I tried the Harbor Freight oil cooled pump and had the same experience. NASTY.

Then, I got pumps from Perry's. They are great, but NOISY.

I'll video this one later.

Alice, My son uses a suction device and has several older ones he no longer uses. I put new tubing and filter on one and used it to milk, but I was afraid it was too strong. I adjusted it to be as weak as possible and it was still very strong. I was afraid it would hurt their teats. Ours is rechargeable and would be so handy if I wasn't afraid of hurting my does and wrecking their udders. I will be interested to see how this works for you.

This came as part of the Ultimate EZ Milker. It has a VERY easily adjusted gauge on it! SO MUCH EASIER than the standard machine.

I'm running the vacuum line to a free standing pulsator.

I'll be using it this evening and reporting here!

I wanted to add that the machine I have is a different brand and design. I guess the pulsator is the key and what I need to get.

What do you recommend for a pulsator? I looked at them and wasn't sure what I should get.

I called Parts Dept Online and told them I needed an Interpuls type pulsator that would accept a straight line from the bottom. No threads. It has a rubber gasket, and it's maybe 1/2". The vinyl vac hose just slides up in the bottom, and I have the pulsator affixed to a 2x4 wall stud.

Interpuls is nice, but expensive. They have other options.

I don't know what the bottom of this one is like, but mine looks like this from the top.

Doug - you don't know what you're missing! I love mine! You also need to keep in mind that the milker only has a 120-day warranty, so I'd definitely be using it (testing it out) before that expires.

Has it been that long yet? Let's see. I was in Nebraska. I'll have to look at my calender. Honestly. I am picking up 4 more milkers in the next few weeks. My plan is to get it going the 3rd week in June.
