Proud to say that 3 of them are from us! And very proud to be in the company that Doug keeps! WOW! Mac and I have seen many goat herds...some of the best herds, too, and
Doug and Jaimie have drawn from the best of some of those herds to create Spotted Nubians. That big buckling from Jana in picture #4 (Prairie Nights) has a magnificent Hoanbu dam and that little girl next to him is one of ours (Scenic Rivers), but her dam came from Jana via Buck Run (Lea Jackson). The colors and conformation in Doug's kids are really fine and in our opinion he is doing a great job of combining genetics from great herds...obviously our Susie has given some terrific advice along the way! LOL. Cannot say enough for having a goat mentor!!! Joan Coolidge and Emily Dixon were so helpful to us when we started! It says a lot about goat people that so many experienced, sharp people are willing to give the developing herd owner great advice and help. We never bought from Noah Goddard (just out of our pocket book range) but he was tremendously helpful to us! I have called Kathryn at Black Mesa several times (never bought from her either...too far...but WISH we could!) and she has always been kind and helpful. Even though we are cutting back, we will probably always have an interest in goats and goat herds...they are just so beautiful and the people are just plain decent. We loved visiting the Hodges and are really glad our little girls found such a great goat home and I know most of the people on this forum who have purchased or visited the Homesteading Today goat people are glad they did!!

The 3 from you (Paula) are some of Jamie's favorites. (Mine too but I live them all) She loves the brown spotted ones. The one we got first may be her favorite of all. She is turning into a beautiful doe. (Her chocolate color is awesome.
FYI. The two we just got love Noble Goat grower. They took to it like they have been eating it all along.

ne prairiemama, LomahAcres is another herd that shares the belief that goat babies need lots of milk...so, that puts her in my "Great Herd" category. LOL! Some of us are just milk nuts. I am disappointed that Doug did not share with you all that Mac and I wore our bio safe plastic footgear when visiting his establishment!! Another one of my "things"...sigh.
