Hay storage

Okay, My feeder is *almost* done.
Now onto my next issue.

Storage.
Currently I just put it on my garage floor.
It gets messy and wasteful like that though.
I've thought about plastic totes and trashcans, but I don't think thru are wide enough.

How do y'all contain and store your hay?

I only store very small quantities. I stack it on wooden pallets with good ventilation between bales. Personally, I wouldn't enclose it in anything. Humidity and condensation can ruin it. But you could cover it with a tarp to keep it a little tidier. You could get a shop broom and an open plastic tub to keep the loose stuff up off the floor.

Barn.

Needs to breathe. Don't put it in plastic containers.

We store ours on wooden pallets in the barn. You do loose some on the barn floor but usually raining season all those small pieces raked up come in handy for hoop shelters where the quinnea's & chickens hang out, etc.
