Need Help With Newborn Doeling

Have a 3 day old very tiny ND doe. She's in the house but shivering, restless, seems constantly hungry and whining. I have her on a combo of mom's milk and cow milk and she's getting plenty but always wants more. She is one of trips - I lost one kid I had to pull. I've raised many a small kid and never had this issue. Now I haven't seen a bowel movement on her yesterday. Have wiped her rear with a warm wet cloth. Should I do someting more?

What is her temp? Did she get colostrum?

She may need an enema. Some will want to eat b/c that helps them "go" but then they can't eat b/c there isn't room or whatever.
We use a luer tip (not luer lock) 6cc syringe to administer the enema of really warm water w/ a little ob lube in it and sometimes a spot of dawn or I have even used baby shampoo.

Has she had a bowel movement at all? If not, lube your small finger with soap or KY and gently check to be sure the anus is not imperforate.

Warm bath in the sink can help - both with her shivering and getting her to go. If she seams hungry I would increase her milk - but after you see her go.

Are you sure she has all the appropriate evacuation orifices?

She was doing better but this morning has a sub temp and not active. She still eats well but always seems hungry. I saw a bm a couple days ago but nothing since. I will do the enema. I'm not optomistic.

Not getting colostrum is potentially fatal.

I'm sorry she isn't thriving.

I forgot to add that she did get colostrum. She had a bm this morning and it was normal consistency.

Might want to try putting her in a tote, with a heating pad. If she is weak she may be having trouble regulating her temperature.

Overall she's doing better today but doing some sneezing. Of course concerned about pneumonia. What if anything would you advise giving her?

Today she is much better - bouncing around and very active. No more whining and she's sleeping longer. I've not seen another kid want to eat more. Is this because she's undersized and catching up? She urinates a lot too, more than I recall other kids I've raised inside.

She could be eating more b/c she was trying to catch up. (I always try to look at the placentas on the smaller ones to check the condition. sometimes you can "see" that they might have gotten the short end of nutrition) If she was eating more to catch up, she will urinate more. We have had some that needed enemas b/c their bodies seemed to take everything they could from the milk, leaving only small pellets of digested milk to eliminate. Those can be very hard to pass.
