2nd Annual Homesteading Spring Fling
Following the example of my dear sister Cyndi (of MullersLaneFarm) and our dear late Carla Emery, we're going for a second year of Homesteading Weekend Fun!
MAY 31, 2014 - JUNE 1, 2014
Macomb, MO
Since Cyndi and Paul already do it so well, we figured we'd do it pretty much the same way as they've been doing it for TEN YEARS NOW! (and yes, I did shamelessly steal Cyndi's invitation copy - she said I could.

)
This year, folks are welcome to camp out (primitive - i.e. no electric or water hookups). You're welcome to come Friday afternoon / evening to set up camp and socialize around the fire.
Activities will begin Saturday morning and continue all day. No set times for activities, because (to quote our brother and sister), "We don't have a plan, and we're sticking to it!"
Sunday will be a day of rest. Breakfast will be served and folks will depart.
This will be an informal get together for like-minded people who would like to share with/learn from others.
Possible events/classes:
Animal Care
Gardening
Canning
Wood cookstove operation
Cooking on open fire with cast iron
Book Barter
Composting
Scything
If you have a talent you would like to share with others, bring what you need.
Potluck both days, bring what you like and we'll share with all.
If you want to help by bringing ice, we will be certainly appreciate it!
In addition to primitive camping, a central cook fire will be available. Water hose available. Indoor & primitive bathroom available. Small camper trailers are okay. Hotels available within 10 miles.
If you are camping and would like to come set up on Friday evening, please let us know in advance!
Please! As we are a working farm, we must insist on
no pets. If you bring children, they must be supervised.
Feel free to bring musical instruments!
