Care to venture a guess?

This goat came wandering up the driveway of my neighbor's farm last night.
He's an intact male and very fond of her horses. She doesn't have any goats, but says he can stay if he wants.
We're somewhat familiar with the goats in our area and no one we know is missing a goat.

Breed?

My guess is Nigerian Dwarf. He's handsome.

Contact the local feed stores and inquire about local goat folks on Monday. However, he may have been dumped like a litter of puppies.

Most definitely that is a pygmy buck OR possibly a fainting buck. I'd put money on Pygmy though. They can often get the long skirting you see on that guy. He looks healthy. Definitely not a nigerian.
Wendy and harvestmoonfarm like this.

Looks like a pygmy to me too. He looks like he'd breed a mighty fine meat herd.

Handsome little guy. Might have some silky fainter crossed with pygmy. They have the long hair like that but he doesn't have the long hair over the face like a silky.

Yep, I had a pygmy buck that looked just like him, minus the horns!

He's really handsome. And I guess he is well-behaved. I need to brush him.

Looks are deceiving. While he is a handsome devil, he wants nothing to do with being touched. If he is confined in a stall or small area, he bounces off the walls like a pin ball machine. Wherever he came from, he was not handled or touched.
I offered to shear him for her and that's when she told me about his behavior.
Maybe in time he'll calm down, but for now, he is having no part of it!
