Registration question

My doe cora delivered two perfect bucklings. While I have always wanted a black oberhasli the adga does not allow black bucks born into the registry but will allow black does. This does not make any sense to me but it is what it is. Is there any way i can get this little black buck registeted? Maybe as a recorded grade? It is just a shame as he is absoutley perfect and would make a great herdsire.

You can't record bucks. So no I don't believe there is anyway to register him with ADGA. One of the other registries maybe? I don't know.

Black ober bucks aren't allowed to be registered. 99% of bucks born are not breeding quality anyways, so the vast majority of perfectly marked animals should also be castrated. Some of those animals could go to someone just wanting a buck to freshen their does without registration papers.

It is sad, but maybe one of the dairies around here would want him. He is a nice looking boy.

A dairy will only want him if his dam is an EXCELLENT milker. They have plenty of boy babies of their own to deal with.

He could be bred to an ober doe for 50% grade kids, if you really wanted to use him. Only does would be eligible for registration, and then those could be used to grade up to American Oberhasli in a few generations if you kept breeding to purebred/american bucks.
