Question Disbudding - how much pressure?

My disbudding iron (x30) will be here tomorrow. I've seen it done in person, watched videos, read, etc., but I'm still nervous. How much pressure - if any - do you apply when holding the iron on their little heads?

For an x30 I'd probably push down a little bit. With the heavier x50, I just let the iron sit on the head, but hold it firmly. I rock it around as I burn to make sure it's an even burn.

I push relatively hard. Otherwise, it might move with all the squirming. I don't use a box. I just hold them against my leg. Matter of fact. I have to do two today.

as Alice.. Firm (enough to keep skin contact ... or it will slide off to the side.. leaving a long surface burn.. OUCH).. push down and hold in place.. lift.. look, repeat as needed..
good luck, once you do it a couple of times, you will wonder why you were even worried.
