I know Alpacas are NOT goats but need some info

And, I just didnt know where to ask!

I have a woman wanting to trade me two non breeding alpacas for a breeding trio of rabbits with cages and she made them sound fun to have but, then again, she is an alpaca breeder so loves them.

Anyone else have them? Like them? Hate them? Any stories about them you might want to share?

Please, its a pretty big leap without more info so help would be great!

Oh, and if there is a better place for my question, feel free to move it there! Perhaps a place for odd ball livestock is needed lol.

So you want to trade 3 possible profit makers for 2 lawn ornaments that burn threw hay feed. What do you plan to do with the alpacas?

I like alpacas, but if I didn't have a use for them I wouldn't want any. (I like to spin and crochet) Unless you're going to use them for something, it'd be better to keep the rabbits.

Let me clarify, I don't think alpacas are bad animals to have (can they be livestock guardians like llamas?) it's just that unless the ones you are getting have some sort of training you either can't do yourself or don't have time for, they are usually easily had for very cheap and I wouldn't trade profitable animals for them.
