Midge is driving me batty!

Today is 149, and I thought she'd kid a couple of days ago. In 2012, she kidded on day 147 with twin doelings. Last year, she kidded with a single doeling on day 149. Sunday night, we were going to be gone for the evening and she was droopy in the tailhead (but didn't really have many other signs), so I put her in the kidding stall while we were gone and then over night (with me doing a 3:00 in the morning check). The two previous years that she kidded here, she went from no signs to popping out kids ridiculously quickly, so I wanted to be ready.

Monday and Tuesday...more of the same...out with the herd during the day and in the stall over night (with more 3:00 in the morning and multiple daytime hecks). Today, her tailhead is squishy soft, ligs are gone, udder has filled quite a bit overnight, and she has just the teensiest bit of goo. I was going to leave her with the other girls this morning, but she had an odd gaze about her, was biting her sides, stretching, and doing that weird head thing they do. I called her name and opened the kidding stall gate, and she went right in. Hopefully, today is the day! Son has homeschool gym class and karate class tomorrow, so today would be a much better day...I haven't told her, though...I'm not THAT foolish!

Ugh...title should say "Mudge", not "Midge".

Mammabooh we will be in the same boat soon . Zoe and Mia are both at 148 days today...no signs of babies coming soon yet though. My only consolation during these times of the year is they have to kid SOMETIME *laughs*.

She is just trying to save you from yourself! It is obvious that you do not need to be "going out" or "getting away" from you main responsibility of being near HER! What in the world were you thinking to plan anything this year???!

How is Mudge Mammabooh? I am looking at my goat spy cams and it looks like Ms. Mia may have dropped a bit in the belly here . I want kids so bad but at the same time I am dreading the extra work . But that is just because I am getting over being sick right?? *laughs*

She's sitting in an easy chair with her legs crossed. Not really, but she sure is taking her sweet time this year!

Oh man the visual has me cracking up (and now I am coughing...). You and I will be in good company these next few days . Who else is due after Mudge?

Winnie (Mudge's 2012 daughter) will be a FF. She will be at day 150 on Monday. Then, Snicket on the 23rd. I don't know if you remember all of the trouble I had with Vinnie last year (possible bent leg), but she was Winnie's sister. Winnie seems to be developing quite a nice little udder. Her teats are horribly short, but her udder is buttery soft and she lets me do whatever I want when she's on the stand. As soon as I touch her udder, she does that little squat thing. She's been getting up on the stand for hoof trimming every month since she was just a few months old, and I've been giving her a bit of grain up there for a few weeks. Hopefully, she will be a very willing milker.

P.S. sorry for making you cough!!!

I just came in from checking on Mudge, and her ligaments are gone. It seems, however, that she just doesn't know that that means she's supposed to have those kids now!

I had a weird dream last night. Mudge gave birth to a 2 1/2 year old little blond boy. I was happy that our son was going to have a little brother, but then became concerned that Winnie and Snicket might each give birth to human triplets and then we would have a house full. I texted my hubby at work today and told him about it, and he said that would have been a good dream 15 years ago, but not now! (We are old...have been married 25 years, but our son is only 12...he's an in vitro baby.)

Yay for no ligs! Now if only she would get to business . I just got in from checking my girls and so far Zoe has REALLY dropped in the belly and Mia also has dropped quite a bit. Both still have their ligaments and their udders aren't strutted yet so I am thinking another day or so before I see any action.

I do remember Vinnie from last year! I hope Winnie gives you a much easier time than her momma . I have three 2012 FF does due myself this year . Ginny is due the day before Vinnie and then Naomi and Thyme are the two days after Vinnie. Between the two of us we have a doe due every day starting tomorrow until the 12th .

Maybe we should find out if our girls are competitive. I'll go tell Mudge that there are two girls that are gonna beat her having their babies and see what she does with that.

I have 2 nigerians in a stall together. Val 147d (the fertile myrtle from last year. I think I should change her name to mega multiplier LOL) ligs feel gone or severely hiding, licking everyone and Ada 145d. Next Monday Honey and Molly are 145d. Gonna be hopping around here real soon!
