No pics, sorry. I'll try to get some later. Had another set of triplets born this morning. All bucks. Lost one of them, but the other 2 are fine. This is a new doe that has not been milked, so I have some training to do!

Sorry about the buckling. Glad the others seem to be doing well though!
Good luck with the milking

Training first fresheners = fun times.

How are your other sick girls doing now?

The others are doing fine.

The new one actually stood very well. HOWEVER.......................... I got absolutely nothing out of one side, not even a drop. No plug that I could see. The other side just a few squirts. She is huge, like basketball huge! I have never had a gal with an udder this big. I tried warm compresses & still nothing. I will try vitamin C & the compresses tomorrow again. Not sure if she is just that congested or if she isn't letting her milk down for me. She raised her kids at the last place. If I still have no luck tomorrow I will be calling the vet again.

My first freshener was the same way for the first several days, stood like a rock, but didn't let down much, if at all. Now that she is more relaxed on the stand, she does fine and I can get her emptied. I am a newbie...but this is my experience!

I have had one do this before. Glad I had colostrum in the freezer. I hope she will give it up within the next day or so. She looks to be an awesome milk goat if she'll let me have it! I hate to see them so full & I do not want to deal with mastitis again!

Have fun training her If she let down for her kids you'd see that reflected in the udder soon enough, unless you've removed the kids. I always use peppermint oil. Best wishes with her and the new kids.
