Corid for Cocci VS Natural dewormer

My vet took fecal sample on several of my goats and we got back high coccidia results... I'm wondering if anyone knows of or uses a more natural dewormer or coccidia prevention and treatment plan... We try to do things as natural as possible and don't like to use chemicals if its not an emergency... I know cocci can become an emergency, just putting out some feelers.
Any help is appreciated!
Thank you!

Coccidia are protozoa, not worms.

I wish there was a different way to treat them!!

Coccidia is one thing I would not mess around with. They can go downhill very fast. The damage done to them can make them scrawny & unthrifty the rest of their lives. Prevention is the best, but if you must, treat, don't mess around with unknown things.

They will either die quickly or they can be damaged so bad internally in such a short period of time that they will never grow right or be healthy. My suggestion is not to mess around with it.

For cocci - you kinda have to 'mess around' with it. Different things work for different people, places, herds etc. etc. Corrid never worked for me (and it's NOT for treatment - it is a preventative, if they already have it you need something else) - yet I know others corrid works really well for.

As far as herbal - garlic and cayenne are good starters for working toward a preventative formula - however, they need to work their way into the system. I would treat with Di-methox until they are cleared out and have a fresh start then try something herbal daily/weekly for preventative. Whatever you do, continue to fecal check and monitor their health until you find what works in your herd.

Pen / pasture rotations can also help - moving kids once every 3-4 weeks and letting pasture rest at least 3-4 weeks in between use to help break the life cycle. Also cross grazing with other animals - if you have any, will help cut the numbers in your pastures. Sunlight and deep frost will kill cocci.

I wouldn't mess with natural remedies when it comes to coccidosis either. Way too easy to loose them & quickly too if they get really bad.

I prefer the Di-Methox 40% inj. given orally & that's what I use here as a preventative.

Something else - if you really want to go natural - see if you can find a certified organic farm/dairy in your area. Goats would be perfect, but hard to find, if you found a cow dairy or sheep that would be helpful too - ask them what they are doing, and what works best for them. Maybe a place to start.
