Bellies

Do you notice that different breeds carry their babies differently or is that just each individual goat? My Nubian's belly hangs WAY down low but doesn't pook out to the side so much. The Alpine pooks straight out side to side, but hardly lower than when she's not pregnant.

I think you can generalizations for certain breeds but then your individuals might be different. I know I've seen Saanen preggo belly pics that have them sticking way out to the sides but all of mine seem to carry their babies in close and hang low instead of poke out.

My little random brush goat looked like she had swallowed two basketballs!

I don't know about differences in breeds, but I know there can be huge differences within the same breed. We have all NDs, and they vary widely. Emily goes very wide with barely any noticeable change in how low her belly is. Zora carries low. Looking at her sides, you'd hardly know she was pregnant. Madeleine balloons out in every direction. It's almost like she's just inflated.
