Sick Goat Update

Sick Goat Update - Goats

Well, I'll be darned! I'd already turned out the lights & had gone to bed. After about an hour, I decided I was hungry, and got up to fix myself a snack. Turned on the kitchen lights, and heard a soft murmuring from the bathroom. Drama, the sick goat there, was making this low noise. I went to her and hand-fed her pellets from the milkstand ration, and gave her several syringefuls of the electrolyte mixture I'd made up earlier. She took everything eagerly! I have to believe that the murmuring sound she made was her way of calling to me!!

Up at 0230 for a potty break, walked into the bathroom, and she GREETED me with a low, murmuring bleat! She eagerly sucked down more electrolyte.

She got a bedding change this morning, just like in a real hospital - LOL! Head is no longer flung back in that horrible, extreme neck-stretching way! Appetite is good, and output is GOOD.

Sounds like she's heading in the right direction! Great Job Loretta!
Looking for an update tomorrow saying she's walking out of the bathroom!

Maybe from the elctrolyte's & just the stress of being sick, medications, etc.?
I'd give some kaopectolin or pepto & see if that helps.
Keeping you & your girl in my thoughts.

Also stress brings on other "stuff." I would get a fecal for worms and cocci.
