Two Kiddings Today

First, Rimfire had a wee bit of goo.
Livewire was talking funny.
So I brought her to stall. By the time I stepped out of barn Rimmy already had a doeling on the ground
Maybe a half hr later she still hadn't delivered anymore.
In I go, find three legs at the door. Said a quick prayer, shoved rear foot back in & pulled front legs that I hoped belonged to the same kid.
whew.
3rd doeling was simple breech.

Meantime Livewire is getting ready & finally spits out buckling. Her butt is parked against a wall.
She finally moves so I can see who's left. This doe bites when she doesn't like what you're doing. So I got some fluid from the first B & let her sniff & lick my hands. Got #2 B out.
Will get pics tomahwhoa.

Great delivery! Especially the part where the biting goat is against the wall and you are smearing yourself with birth goo...yes, that's what we live for on HT...how else could you dare to call yourself a real goat mom?? LOL. Pictures for the crowd, please...we don't like getting dirty, but we LOVE the after glo...

...or the after goo.

Livewire bellows like a cow. She never speaks softly, that was the giveaway.
Gotta go finish chores.

Worth the wait!! Just beautiful kids!
Hey, you didn't happen to get any photos or maybe a video of the goo smearing while the biting goat was plastered against the fence, did you? There is just something about your description that makes everyone (me, for sure) want to hold onto that moment...

HA! Never a camera for inquiring minds. No, I just knew she would try to bite me before going in so I thought a little birth fluid wouldn't hurt.
That kid was 14#.
Today I was behind her picking up berries, she turned & tried to bite till she realized I wasn't invading her.

Beautiful kids!

Good, quick thinking with the birth fluid/biter. I'll have to remember that.

Hi Min!!

Racoon Breath I had to think of something! She once had some sort of infection next to her knee. I touched it & it exploded. When it came to flushing it she was a BEAR!
Lost one of her boys this afternoon. The smaller one. He was hunched over this morning but had a reasonably full belly.
I left him in there for awhile, picked him up & set him in another place so she could smell & nose him.
It was sad/hard to watch. I haven't been back to the barn since I buried him a few hours ago.

Soon as I hit the barn door she started hollering. Maybe I should have left the body with her longer.
Death. Don't we all hate it. I was not attached to him like she was.
