goat throwing up

my baby goat had an upset stomach today and I gave him a small amount of baking soda. Then he began to grind his teeth even worse and he started to throw up the most vial smelling stuff. Can anyone tell me why? he seems better now, still grinding a little but seems to want his bottle, though im only giving him water right now. Should I be more worried? I'm new with goats, so I'm still trying to understand everything.

How old? At a few weeks old, they learn to chew their cud... and at first, are not good at it. Its not uncommon to have them choke, fling cud, throw up during a 'misfire'. I hope that's all it is. As for the smell, they ferment their food - that usually means smelly.

Water doesn't have any nutritional benefit. How old?

Teeth grinding means pain. Is it peeing and pooping? Does he have a fever?
