So, we have been feeding our new girls that we got this summer pure alfalfa hay and a molasses mixed pellet and corn mix from local mill. We are seeing everyone talk about oats as there diet. We are interested in doing this but do you feed only oats or still some kind of pellets?

I feed my does' & yearlings equal parts of oats & a 16%dairy pellet from ADM Alliance. My boys do not get this mix unless they are still with their dam.

Two parts whole oats, one part dairy pellet.

My philosophy of goat feeding is that corn is bad for them (learned this from the bovine lactation consultant veterinarian).

Molasses isn't good for them, as it increases the possibility of acidosis.
