Did the baby bump. Was sure I felt a third baby. Gloved up and went in. Cervix was closed. I manipulated until I got it open. Couldn't find the baby. Came in to work with the little ones. Went back out just now and she was delivering breach. I assisted. It was still born. It wasn't right. This is at least 5 hours after the others came out. If I hadn't went in and opened her back up, it might still be in there. She is cleaned out and looking great.

Glad you got the third one out! Bump before leaving them does! Those babies look so little! Have you weighed them? I'd give them both some Bo-Se and maybe the mom too...they look a little weak (are they standing good yet?? They should be up and about pretty good by now).

5lbs.. that is pretty light.. most of our kids avg 8 to 9 (sometimes a little less.. sometimes a LOT more.. thinking back to the 13lb 14ouncer last year).. they don't look preemie at all...just kind of weak and *spidery* in the legs.. (nubian kids have odd apple shaped heads with smaller ears when they are preemie/ early)..Mom not having milk is a concern.. wonder what's going on with her? (isn't this your Hula doe? about to turn 2 year old ff?).. I know she was in good shape when you bought her (if the picture they used to advertise her was current).. I'd noticed in the last couple pictures of her you've posted here and facebook.. she just didn't have that pregnant lady glow one would expect on a big, healthy ff.. (I have 4 or 5 of them due in a couple weeks.. was just commenting on how fat, sassy and proud of themselves they are all looking.. everyone is making an udder and starting to shift babies around).. wonder what you have going on with this girl? My girls always have their milk in by the time kids hit the ground..even when I induce them... know you've been feeding good alfalfa.. so low calcium/protein shouldn't be the problem.. (I've never had to give a ff CMPK.. that's something I've only use on my old ladies) hopefully mom will get her milk.. kids will gain weight fast.. (I usually try for a min. of 12 ounces of colostrum per kid in the first 12 hours.. usually we end up giving more like 24 ounces)
they are pretty colored kids.. congrats
(oh, just a head's up, since these are your very first goat kids....with them born down in the dirt on the barn floor, you will have to watch them closely for navel ill)

I don't know what's up with her. She didn't even look pregnant. She still looks very healthy. We couldn't believe she had triplets in there. I'm hoping she increases milk production tonight and has a lot more in the morning. Almost every doe I have has a bigger bag than her. I don't have great scales for weighing. I had to weigh myself and then weigh them. Here's the pic I took just now at the 2am feeding. They aren't sucking very well but I got 3 ozs in each of them. That's 8 to 9 ozs of colostrum so far each.
We cleaned them up real good and dipped the navels. They weren't on that floor very long and they were dry when I put them there. You are the second one to scold me for that. I was surprised by her being so early and they were in the middle of the rest of the girls. They were piled up in a bed of nice clean hay. I just didn't want them getting trampled. It was already dark when I got home from about killing my son.

Little girl just got cleaned up. Black tar poo all over her. Weighed 5.2 lbs. little boy. No poo yet. 5.6 lbs. Checked on momma. She is hollering for her babies and trying to get past me to go look for them. Still hoping to see a lot of milk in the morning.

If they are able, would it help the doe's milk to come in if you let the kids try to nurse? Haven't had to deal with this yet and am wondering. The kids nursing always helps to make the mom's drop their milk, but that's after her milk has come in.
